3. TekExpress M-PHY Tx created changes on your system.

After first launch of "TekExpress M-PHY Tx.exe”, the following changes take place in
your computer:
a) "My TekExpress" folder is created under "My Documents" folder of the current
user
NOTE: If a user with new login ID launches "TekExpress M-PHY Tx.exe",
"My TekExpress" folder is created under "My Documents" of the new user.
b) "M-PHY Tx" folder is created under "My TekExpress" folder
c) "Untitled Session" folder is created under "M-PHY Tx" folder, note that
every time "TekExpress M-PHY Tx.exe" is launched "Untitled Session" folder is
created under "M-PHY Tx" folder and will be deleted after proper termination
of application.
d) If user saves a session in TekExpress M-PHY Tx, all session files are saved
under "M-PHY Tx" folder. Note that each session has multiple files associated
with it. Do not tamper or edit any of the session file(s) and/or folder(s);
this may result in loss of data or corrupted session files.

4. Before you click "RUN"

a) Right click on the My TekExpress folder and open the Properties dialog box.
Select General tab and then Advanced. In the Advanced Attributes window, ensure
that the option Encrypt contents to secure data is NOT selected.
b) Ensure that all the required instruments are properly warmed up, a Signal Path
Compensation (SPC) is performed on each instrument, followed by calibration and
cable deskew.
c) It is highly recommended to read the “Troubleshooting” section in the OLH
before you click "RUN"

6. Known Limitations

6.1 Installer related limitation
a) Installation of TekExpress and other software are installed on C: only.
b) User need to have administrative privilege while installing the application
c) Application can only be launched in TekScope.
d) Before installing the application, Tekscope application should be closed.
e) Installer would need around 2.2GB of Hard disk space in C:\ Drive. Installer
won’t check it automatically.

6.2 TekExpress application related limitation
a) User needs to have administrative privilege while launching the application
for the first time.
b) Test will be started only when all the required instruments are available.
c) During test execution if user pauses the execution and makes any changes in
instrument setup, then it is important that user restores the instruments
settings to same state before clicking "resume".
d) DUT ID should have maximum of 32 Characters, even though field allows for more.
e) It is recommended to use a secondary monitor when the application is used.
f) When user hits Run button for the first time after application is opened,
application will take few seconds to load all components. This will cause UI to
freeze for few seconds

6.3 M-PHY Tx application related limitation
a) While running the tests, M-PHY Tx application will go behind the scope during
some of the tests. User has to press Alt-Tab to bring the application to the
front.
b)Slew rate measurements are informative for Gear2 and Gear3.

c) Margin calculated for Prepare Length shows fraction value.

d)Test 1.1.17 – HS-TX Deterministic Jitter (DJTX) and Test 1.1.18 – HS-TX Short-Term Deterministic Jitter (STDJTX)
is informative for Burst mode.

e) M-PHY Tx HS signals should have at least 10micro second burst for Unit interval
measurement to work seamlessly.
f)Saved session can be executed only from X:\M-PHY Tx

g) Saved session can be executed only X:\M-PHY Tx. If the session files are copied
to other location application will not work as expected.
h) In user-defined mode, if user provides invalid scope settings Tekscope and/or
application may crash.

i) BER Eye Contour is made available in Pre-recorded mode but when selected and ran it will not execute.

j) Loop Bandwidth parameter used in Jitter measurements takes value according to gear selected in compliance mode and it takes value as set in UI ,for user defined mode.

6.4 Pre-requisites for TekExpress M-PHY Tx application
a)Any web browser to view mht report.
b) Microsoft Photo Editor 3.0 or equivalent software for image files viewing.
c) Adobe Reader 7.0 or equivalent software for viewing portable document format
(PDF) files.
