TekExpress SATA created changes on your system. After first launch of "TekExpress SATA.exe" following changes take place in your computer. a) "My TekExpress" folder is created under "My Documents" folder of current user NOTE: If a user with new login ID launches "TekExpress SATA.exe", "My TekExpress" folder is created under "My Documents" of the new user. b) "SATA" folder is created under "My TekExpress" folder based on the selection c) "Untitled Session" folder is created under "SATA" folder, note that every time "TekExpress SATA.exe" is launched "Untitled Session" folder is created under "SATA" folder and will be deleted after proper termination of application. d) If user saves a session in TekExpress SATA all session files are saved under "SATA" folder. Note that each session has multiple files associated with it and do not tamper with any of the session file(s) and/or folder(s) this may result in loss of data or corrupted session files. ================================================================================== 3. Before you click "RUN" a) Right click on the "My TekExpress" folder and open the Properties dialog box. Select General tab and then Advanced. In the Advanced Attributes window, ensure that the option Encrypt contents to secure data is NOT selected. b) Ensure that all the required instruments are properly warmed up, Signal Path Compensation (SPC) is performed, followed by calibration and cable deskew. c) It is highly recommended to read Troubleshooting section in OLH before you click "RUN" e) Ensure that the following software are installed in your system. - Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0 SP1 or later. - Adobe Reader 6.0 or equivalent software - Tektronix Jitter and Eye Diagram tool - MATLAB 8.0 (2012b) runtime ================================================================================== 4. Supported Test Suites Following test suites are supported by this version of TekExpress SATA: Device - PHY-TSG-OOB, RSG-RMT Host - PHY-TSG-OOB, RSG-RMT Only PHY-TSG-OOB test suites are supported on the Sx scope models. ================================================================================== 5. Known Limitations 6.1 Installer related limitation a) Installation of TekExpress and other software are installed on C: only. b) User need to have administrative privilege while installing the application c) Application can only be launched in TekScope. d) Before installing the application, TekScope application should be closed. e) Pattern installer need to be installed separately on supported model of AWG 6.2 TekExpress application related limitation a) User needs to have administrative privilege while launching the application first time. b) Test will be started only when all the required instruments are available. c) During test execution if user pauses the execution and makes any changes in instrument setup, then it is important that user restores the instruments settings to same state before clicking "resume". d) DUT ID should have maximum of 32 Characters, even though field allows for more. e) It is recommended to use a secondary monitor when the application is used. f) When user hits Run button for the first time after application is opened, application will take few seconds to load all components. This will cause UI to freeze for few seconds. Repeatedly pressing Stop button will cause the application to hang. g) If the supplied BISTL AWG files are not working for the DUT, then specific BISTL files need to be created for the DUT. h) All the BISTL files need to be available in the AWG as specified in the note of the application. i) Abnormal termination of AWG in between while creation of Waveforms using SerialXpress can lead to abnormal behavior of RMT solution. j) RMT test can be performed only on pre-generated set of jitter patterns (frequency and UI jitter) k) The calibration process for instruments is not supported through test automation script in PHY-TSG-OOB and in RSG-RMT test suite. l) The Tektronix MOI for SATA TSG & RSG tests shipped along with the installer may not the latest MOI, refer Tektronix website for latest version of MOI. m) For 70k AWG, ensure that AWG file name and sequence name matches. n) Sometimes in RSG/RMT tests, analysis status will be shown as 'To be started' even when the test is in progress. o) Initialize is in-correct in the log status. p) If you are not able to find AWG70K in TekExpress instrument bench even though it shows up in 'TekVisa'; kindly restart TekScope and try again. 6.3 RMT application a) Scope based Error Detection is sensitive to Signal Path Calibration (SPC) which can drift over temperature variation and many hours of continuous operation. Users should be diligent in re-running SPC whenever there is a temperature variation in excess of 5 degrees C in the ambient lab conditions, to ensure error detection is reliable and does not report false failures. Refer to the instrument manual for the SPC procedure. b) There is a possibility that SerialXpress may not respond due to which pattern creation would not be possible. In this case for that particular measurement pop up will be displayed mentioning the reason. For this case SerialXpress need to be restarted. c) Ensure HSS application is present in AWG-70000 for RMT tests d) During Pattern creation ensure you do not disturb TekExpress application. 6.4 General limitations a) Sometimes AWG70K does not respond to SCPI commands. We need to reboot it manually. b) Amplitude for RSG waveforms for AWG7K can be set upto 1V whereas for AWG70K the maximum amplitude which can be set is 500mV c) During test execution if STOP button is clicked, it will take some time to stop the tests. For RMT tests it may take 10-15 minutes. ================================================================================== 7. Information 1. If DUT Power Cycle sequence is automated using external power supply (with Signal source AWG70000 series), do the following: a) Connect Channel-1 of external power supply +ve to pin #14 (and pin #15 to GND) in case of 20 pin Molex connector of AT/ATX power supply. b) Connect Channel-1 of external power supply +ve to pin #16 (and pin #17 to GND) in case of 24 pin Molex connector of AT/ATX power supply. c) If the CH1 of external power supply does not work, try to use CH3 (Max 6V) and it's ground to power cycle DUT. 2. For 'Eye Diagram (Informative Test)', the 'Clock Recovery' 'Data Rate Type' parameter is set to 'Auto' by Default. This enables the 'Clock Bit Rate' to be set as per generation. It will work in similar way for all measurements which have 'Clock Recovery' field in the 'Configure Panel - General' ==================================================================================================================================================================
