(2) Configure the rear RS232 on instrument, including properties of Baud, Flow control, EOL string and Parity. Press the UTILITY button. Select i°Optionsi± option. And press the i°RS232 Setupi± option to configure the Properties. (3) Controlling programs should use the *STB query in preference to the serial poll following a service request (SRQ). Why: A serial poll following a service request (SRQ) may cause communication to hang. (4) Programs should check for a timeout error after each read. Why: In rare circumstances, the read following a query may time out. When a timeout error is observed, it is necessary to re-send the query and re-read the query response. ======================== END ===========================
