Keithley Honored with Two 2003 NorTech Innovation Awards

Cleveland, Ohio - June 18, 2003 - Keithley Instruments, Inc. (NYSE: KEI) announced today it has been recognized by the Northeast Ohio Technology Coalition (NorTech) for two recent product innovations. Keithley received the two 2003 NorTech Innovation Awards for its Model 2701 Ethernet-Based DMM/Data Acquisition System and its Model 2800 RF Power Analyzer. The annual awards competition honors individuals and companies that have created and implemented Northeast Ohio's best innovations.

The Model 2701 Ethernet-Based DMM/Data Acquisition System is the industry's first high precision multipoint test system that fully integrates instrument-quality, 22-bit (6-1/2-digit) resolution and sensitivity with Ethernet long-distance networking. This system makes it easy and economical to acquire precision measurements just about anywhere. A wide range of manufacturers use the Model 2701 for reliability testing of electronic components and subassemblies, remote machine monitoring and control, and in R&D. Colleges and universities also use it in scientific research applications and in teaching labs.

Manufacturers of wireless communications products, such as cellular phones, RFIC power amplifiers, and related RF devices, use the Model 2800 RF Power Analyzer to make high speed RF power spectra measurements that are essential for economical production. The Model 2800's unique circuitry quickly takes many measurements per frequency band, in a compact instrument package designed specifically for production testing. As a result, it is faster, more accurate, easier to use, and lower in cost than any alternative for testing wireless products.
