Keithley Receives Product Innovation Awards

Cleveland, Ohio -- January 13, 2003 -- Keithley Instruments, Inc. (NYSE: KEI) today announced that it has been recognized by three trade magazines for its electronic measuring product innovations during 2002. The Model 6487 Picoammeter/Voltage Source was chosen as a Product of the Year by the editors of Electronic Products magazine for its ability to measure extremely low currents. The Model 2701 Ethernet-Based DMM/Data Acquisition System, the industry's first high precision multipoint test system with Ethernet long-distance networking capabilities, is one of EDN magazine's Top 100 Products for 2002. Lastly, the Keithley Model S600DC/RF Automated Parametric Test System for semiconductor testing received an Honorable Mention as Best-in-Test from the editors of Test & Measurement World (T&MW) magazine.

The Model 6487 Picoammeter/Voltage Source has a unique set of capabilities, including low current sensitivity near that of the most sensitive instruments available (down to 20 femtoamps or 0.000000000000020 amps). The Model 6487 is the most cost-effective measurement solution for materials research in a variety of industries.

The Model 2701's Ethernet network capabilities allow it to make precision measurements easily and economically just about anywhere. It is the first Ethernet-compatible instrument of its type to provide "instrument-grade" measurement performance.

Integrated circuit (IC) manufacturers use the Model S600DC/RF automated test system for testing radio frequency (RF) communications devices during the early phases of manufacturing, while these devices are still part of a silicon wafer. The S600DC/RF system's ability to execute independent direct current (DC) and RF measurements simultaneously helps reduce the time and cost of testing today's advanced IC devices.
