Keithley Picoammeter Cited Among World's 100 Top Technological Contributions of 2001

Cleveland, Ohio -- August 2, 2002 - The editors of Research & Development Magazine have named Keithley Instruments, Inc., Cleveland, Ohio, as one of the recipients of the 2002 R&D 100 Award for the Model 6485 Picoammeter. Winners of this prestigious award are chosen each year by a panel of more than 70 industry experts, who review hundreds of entries from universities, private corporations, and labs from around the world. They select the 100 most technologically significant products and processes introduced during the previous year. The R&D 100 Awards were established in 1963 and have a strong track record of identifying innovative research, products, and solutions. Many winners have gone on to enter mainstream acceptance and application, including the automated teller machine (1973), the fax machine (1975), the Kodak Photo CD (1991), and HDTV (1998). The winners will be honored in October at presentation ceremonies in Chicago.

Exceptional Performance and Speed at Low Cost

The Model 6485 Picoammeter was designed to offer researchers and test engineers a fast, economical, low current measurement solution. Particularly in industries like optoelectronics, the Model 6485's combination of affordable pricing and high performance can replace cumbersome home-grown systems and higher priced alternatives, such as optical power meters. Only significantly more expensive solutions can match the Model 6485's combination of high speed and sensitivity. In fact, with a top speed of 1000 readings per second, the Model 6485 is the fastest picoammeter Keithley has ever made.
