Release Notes for Keithley 2015/16/15P THD Multimeter Driver (2015-850A02).

1. What's fixed in this release:

PR20114 Previous version on the Web site was installing the wrong instrsup.dll
and consequently the driver would generate "Entry Point Not Found" errors.

PR20116: Removed the dependency on the file cvidef.h.

PR21451 fixed the following problems:
1) 2nd Analog output channel cannot be changed to sq wave. It always stays as i-sine.
2) In Ke2015_ConfigureACVUnit function, when dB is selected, it always assumes 1V ref.
3) In Ke2015_ConfigureACVUnit function, when dBm is selected, it always assumes 75Ohm ref.

PR24219:
When use the function "Ke2015_ConfigureFreqandPeriod" to configure Period measurements,
the driver outputs the wrong aperture command "SENS:PER:DIG " instead of ":SENS:PER:APER "
so that the instrument shows a "-222" message ("parameter out of range"). This happens ONLY with
Period meas, Freq configuration is OK. Threshold=0.1V and Aperture=0.1s and tried several values
and the same happens.


2. Models Supported:

2015 THD Multimeter,
2016 THD Multimeter,and
2015P THD Multimeter.

3. This driver works with the following software environments:

LabVIEW 5.1,
LabVIEW 6.0,
LabWindows/CVI 5.5,
Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0,
Visual Basic 6.0.
And any other environments that support Win32 DLL's.

4. This document provides additional information for the installation and use of
the 2015-850A02 Keithley 2015/16/15P THD Multimeter Driver.

Default installation installs the complete driver for all the supported environments.

The Labview Driver gets installed under the LabView->instr.lib directory, if Labview
is installed on the machine, otherwise, it gets installed under the
Keithley Instruments->Ke2015 directory.

The CVI Driver gets installed under the VXIPnp->Ke2015 directory.

For use with other Win32 environments the required Dll is installed in VXIPnp->bin directory.


For Visual basic Users, more help is provided in the Readme_2015.doc.

Two help files gets installed in Keithley Instruments->Help directory.
Ke2015c.hlp is for C users and Ke2015.hlp is for VB Users.



5. Installation Issues:

Configuring Passport Drivers:
Passport Drivers are used by the VISA software to communicate with specific computer hardware,
such as GPIB cards and Serial ports. After installing the 2015-850A02 driver,
and before attempting to use it, you must verify the proper Passport configuration.
You do this using the Keithley Configuration Panel. Open the Panel by selecting
Start->Programs->Keithley Instruments->Keithley Configuration Panel. Click on the Passports
menu item.

If you are using a Keithley Instruments (CEC) GPIB card in your computer, make
sure the "VISA Passport library for CEC GPIB controllers" is checked. Uncheck
all other Passports. Select Save from the file menu and close the Panel.

If you are using a Keithley Instruments (INES) PCMCIA GPIB card in your
computer, make sure the "VISA Passport library for INES GPIB controllers"
is checked. Uncheck all other Passports. Select Save from the file menu and
close the Panel.

If you are using a National Instruments GPIB card in your computer, make
sure the "VISA Passport library for GPIB controllers" is checked. Uncheck
all other Passports. Select Save from the file menu and close the Panel.

RS232 is not supported.

6. Known Problems:

This driver doesn't support the RS232 bus.

The following four functions: Ke2015_Read, Ke2015_Fetch, Ke2015_ReadBuffer and Ke2015_ReadSweepData
all use binary data transfers which requires setting the VISA attribute VI_ATTR_GPIB_UNADDR_EN. Agilent
VISA is not compatible with the VISA specification on this issue and consequently will return an error.
This behaviour was seen with Agilent VISA version M 1.01.04. It could be that they fix this issue in later
releases.

7. Missing Functionalities:

The following is a list of functionality that is in the 2015 family of instruments
but this VXIPnP driver doesn't support. The user can use the Ke2015_WriteInstrData
and Ke2015_ReadInstrData functions to send and receive commands/data to the instrument.

Not supported in the Model 2015 driver
Does not support CONFigure and MEASure commands.
User defined Math expressions.
Display : All the Display commands except :DISP:ENAB
