Firmware Installation

WARNING: The probes cannot be downgraded through this process. If any probes
need to be downgraded, please contact Tektronix support

1. Copy the downloaded .pfw file to a USB stick
   a. Make sure the USB stick doesn't have any other firmware update files
      (probe files or oscilloscope files)

2. Insert the USB stick with the copied .pfw file to the oscilloscope

3. A window will appear on the scope called "PROBE FIRMWARE UPDATE"
   a. If you do not see this window, please update the oscilloscope or contact
      Tektronix support
   b. You can also get the window to appear by using file utilities, navigating
      to the USB drive and double-clicking the .pfw file

4. Attach any probes to be updated on any available oscilloscope channel
   a. Probes can be attached before or after inserting the USB stick

5. Check or uncheck any probes to be updated as needed using the checkboxes
   a. Each probe channel will be pre-checked as long as a valid probe type is
      attached and the probe's firmware version is lower than the update file's
      firmware version

6. Press the "OK" button in the window to begin the update process
   a. The probes will be updated one at a time in channel order, starting from
      the first channel of the oscilloscope

7. Please wait for the probe(s) to be updated. Do not power off the
   oscilloscope or connect/disconnect any probes during the update process

8. Once finished, the probes can be used as-is. If the update failed on any
   probes, please contact Tektronix support
