Introduction The Tektronix PCI Express Analysis Solution provides Design and Validation Engineers an Easy and Fast Way to Debug and Perform Compliance Testing for PCI Express devices The Solution installs: - 'PCE3: PCI Express Compliance Module' - 'PCE4: PCI Express Compliance Module' - 'PCE5: PCI Express Compliance Module' DPOJET PCI Express MOI provides the procedures for making PCI Express measurements with Tektronix DPO/DSA70000 Series Oscilloscopes with DPOJET (Jitter and Eye Analysis Tools) and probing solutions. DPOJET and its PCI Express Setup Library provide transmitter path measurements (amplitude, timing, and jitter), waveform mask, and limits testing described in multiple variants of the PCI Express specifications. ================================================================================= 2. Changes on your system a) “PCI Express“ can be launched from “Analyze” menu in TekScope application menu b) Launching PCI Express option from Analyze menu of TekScope will launch DPOJET application with “PCI Express 4.0 or PCI Express 3.0” or “PCI Express” selected under Standards tab. c) PCI Express measurements on DPOJET do not have dedicated free trials. ================================================================================= 3. Before you click "RUN" a) Ensure that all the required instruments are properly warmed up, Signal Path Compensation (SPC) is performed, followed by calibration and cable Deskew. b) It is highly recommended to read PCI Express MOI before you click "RUN c) Ensure that the following software is installed on your system. Recommendations - It is important to acquire at least 2.5M record length for Gen1, 5M for Gen2, 10M for Gen3 and Gen4 respectively, for correct results. - For Ref Clock with SSC enabled it is necessary to acquire at least 100M record length. - For IR measurements there will be no result if record length is less than 1M. ================================================================================= 6. Known Limitations 6.1 Installer related limitation a) Required software is installed on C:\ only. b) User needs to have administrative privilege while installing the application c) On the SX scope models, after recalling a setup file manually update the Channel configurations based on the channels available on the Oscilloscope d) Ref Clock measurements will overwrite the plots and only the plot generated for the final measurement in the sequence will be displayed e) Ref Clock measurement plots will not be available in the Report f) Ref Clock measurement may get clipped for D series box as the peak to peak voltage for D series box is 1.2V. The required Peak to peak voltage is 1.5V. ================================================================================================
