Installation Instructions for the BERTScope_PCIe_Rx Software Product: BERTScope_PCIe_Rx Version: 3.2.0.x Date: May-2020 ================================================================================ Minimum System Requirements Operating System Windows 10 (64-Bit & 32-Bit) Performance is not guaranteed on installation platforms with win 7 Software • Microsoft .NET 4.0 or above • Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 SP1 or later (Or equivalent) • TCP/IP connectivity ================================================================================ Pre-requisite PCIe Rx Application supports BERT Scope Firmware V_12.04.56XX and TekScope Firmware V_10.10.x.xx and above. ================================================================================ Important Information 1 Upgrade • It is mandatory to uninstall existing application before installing a new version • Uninstall “Tektronix BERTScope RxTestApp 3.0” and “TekRxService” from Control Panel • Remove TekRxservice ("SigTestService" from older versions) from Start-Up service, if present, from the path C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup • Check if the folders from C:\Program Files\Tektronix\BERTScope are removed after uninstallation • Rename Python2.7 folder in C: drive if the folder is not deleted after uninstallation • Launch the installer wrapper by clicking on BERTScope_PCIe_Rx_V3.2.0.xx executable • The wrapper contains PCIe Rx Application version V3.2.0.xx, SigTest 3.2.0.xx (For Gen 3), SigTest 4.0.xx (For Gen 4) and a version of TekRxService V2.8 and above (For all components) • Select all the components and click "Next" • Proceed as instructed 2 Fresh Installation • The installation wrapper contains PCIe Rx Application, V3.2.0.xx, SigTest 3.2.0.xx (For Gen 3), SigTest 4.0.xx (For Gen 4), TekRxService V2.8 • Select all the components and click "Next" • Proceed as instructed 3 Desktop icons • Once installation is complete, "Tek PCIE Rx Test App" shortcut is created • "TekRxService" batch file shortcut is created 4 Handling connectivity challenges with TekRxService • In case there is difficulty in connecting with the TekRxService from the Rx SW, the following checks can be carried out: • Make sure that while launching the TekRxService, the appropriate firewall permissions are granted • If Rx SW is not able to establish the connection with TekRxService after launching it, then port number configuration needs to be performed in Windows firewall settings as follows: Go to Control Panel > System and Security > Windows Firewall Click on advanced Setting > Inbound Rules >New Rules In New inbound rules wizard select Port and click Next > Select specific Ports: 4006 > Click Next (Allow the connection) > Click Next (Domain, Private and Public should be checked) > Name: TekRxService (Save with any name)> Click Finish. • After configuring Firewall setting, launch TekRxService from desktop • Ensure connection is established and the port number is displayed in the window 5 PERFORM SPC OF THE SCOPE CHANNELS BEFORE START OF CALIBRATION/TESTS 6 DESKEW THE SCOPE BEFORE START OF THE CALIBRATION/TESTS 7 Storage of reports • The reports are stored in the following path C:\ProgramData\Tektronix\BERTScope\RxTestApp\PCIE x.0 • In case the reports are required to be viewed on a separate device as in another RT Scope or BERT Scope or a laptop, copy all the folders and save it in the same location as above but on the viewing device • Launch the Rx SW and notice that all the reports get listed in TP1 and TP2 wizard • Click the “Report” button after selecting the desired report for viewing =============================================================================== If you are unable to download or install this software, please contact the Tektronix Technical Support Center: Customers calling within the U.S. call 1-800-833-9200 press 3.
