Version history ================================================================================== 1. Introduction The TekExpress FRL compliance solution allows you to easily run the Source and Sink measurement tests as per HDMI compliance test specification 2.1. The Installation manual contains the procedure for installation and the online help file included with the software contains the detailed information on how to use the TekExpress application. This Readme.txt file contains additional information for the user. ================================================================================== 2. TekExpress FRL created changes on your system. After first launch of "TekExpress FRL.exe" following changes take place in your computer. a) "My TekExpress" folder is created under "My Documents" folder of current user NOTE: If a user with new login ID launches "TekExpress FRL.exe", "My TekExpress" folder is created under "My Documents" of the new user. b) "FRL" folder is created under "My TekExpress" folder and will have the saved setup files. c) "Untitled Session" folder is created under "FRL" folder, note that every time "TekExpress FRL.exe" is launched "Untitled Session" folder is created under "FRL" folder and will be deleted after proper termination of application. d) If user saves a session in TekExpress FRL all session files are saved under "FRL" folder. Note that each session has multiple files associated with it and do not tamper with any of the session file(s) and/or folder(s) this may result in loss of data or corrupted session files. ================================================================================== 3. Before you click "RUN" FRL Source: a) Ensure that all the required instruments are properly warmed up, Signal Path Compensation (SPC) is performed, followed by cable deskew. b) It is highly recommended to read Troubleshooting section in OLH ("TekExpress FRL.pdf) before you click "RUN" c) Ensure that the following softwares are installed in your system. - Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0 SP1 or later. - Adobe Reader 6.0 or equivalent software - Tektronix Jitter and Eye Diagram tool - Serial Data Link Analysis software d) For stack configuration, Ensure “FRLWaveforms” folder under “C:\Users\Public\Tektronix\TekApplications\HDMI2.1\” location in both the scopes are network shared to each other. FRL Sink: a) Ensure that all the required instruments are properly warmed up, calibrated and identified from TekVISA. b) Install the Factory Calibrated Pattern installer in all AWG’s c) Perform Deskew of the AWG-HD using HDMXpress. d) Perform pattern calibration using HDMXpress. ================================================================================== 4. Supported Test Suites Following test suites are supported by this version of TekExpress FRL: Device - Source, Sink ================================================================================== 5. Pre-Requisites 5.1 Third party Dependency components Version (These will be installed as part of the full deployment package except MATLAB runtime that will be installer as part of the DPOJET install package): 1. MS DOTNET framework Ver. 4.0 2. IronPython Ver. 2.7.3 3. PyVISA Ver. 1.0.0.25 5.2 Tektronix Dependency Firmware/Applications Version (These needs to be installed by the End-user explicitly): 1. RealTime TekScope firmware Ver. 10.8.3 and above. 2. DPOJET application Ver. 10.0.10 and above. 3. SDLA Ver. 3.0.5 and above 5.3 Tektronix Software option keys required : 1. On TekScope : a. Option keys: DJA, SDLA and HD21/HD21DS 5.4 Minimum system requirements a). Supported Scope - DPO70000SX series Real Time Oscilloscopes with BW 23 GHz/33 GHz Bandwidth b). Supported AWG - AWG70001A/B with Opt. Sequencing and 50G Sample rate. c). Operating System - Windows 10 ================================================================================== 6. Known Limitations 6.1 Installer related limitation: a) Installation of TekExpress and other software are installed in C:\ only. b) User needs to have administrative privilege while installing the application c) Application can only be launched in TekScope. d) Before installing the application, TekScope application should be closed. 6.2 TekExpress FRL application related limitation: a) User needs to have administrative privilege while launching the application first time. b) Test will be started only when all the required instruments are available. c) During test execution if user pauses the execution and makes any changes in instrument setup, then it is important that user restores the instruments settings to same state before clicking "resume". d) Need to have sufficient hard disc space(around 4-6GB when full run is selected) to save the session information. e) Abnormal termination of TekExpress application when AWG is performing operations, can lead to abnormal behavior. 6.3 TekExpress FRL Sink limitations: HFR2-2 and HFR2-5 Calibration report should not be considered but can be checked in DPOJET report by manually performing below steps a) The verify calibration report for the below measurements can be generated manually using the below steps: 1) HFR2-2: Intra-Pair Skew a.Recall the waveform "RXSB33PAT1", set the Sampling rate, amplitude on the AWG b.Run AWG, Turn on channel. c.Perform mentioned scope settings as below, . Set the Record length, Sampling rate and bandwidth . Add 'skew' measurement from DPOJet tab; set 'Edges'-->ToEdge set as 'Opposite as from' . Recall a filter file in MATH tab. Use 'C:\Users\Public\Tektronix\TekApplications\HDMI2.1\Filters\CTLE\filter_Eq8.flt' (CTLE 8dB) . Math1 = arbfilt1(Ch1) (or appropriate channel) . Math2 = arbfilt1(Ch2) (or appropriate channel) d.Perform DPOJET Vertical autoset. e.Run the measurement, Save the reports from the "Reports" tab of DPOJet. 2) HFR2-5: Jitter Tolerance a.Recall the waveform "RXSB33PAT1", set the Sampling rate, amplitude on the AWG b.Run AWG, Turn on channel. c.Perform mentioned scope settings as below, . Set the Record length, Sampling rate and bandwidth . Add 'Width', 'Height' and 'TJ@BER' measurement from DPOJET tab . Recall a filter file in MATH tab. Use 'C:\Users\Public\Tektronix\TekApplications\HDMI2.1\Filters\CTLE\filter_Eq8.flt' (CTLE 8dB) . Math1 = arbfilt1(Ch1 - Ch2) (or appropriate channel) . Perform DFE if required(at 12 G). And use the appropriate channel for measurement(in case of CTLE only use MATH1 as the channel else, use REF4 as channel) . Perform DPOJET Vertical autoset. d.Perform the DPOJET run. e.Save the reports from the "Reports" tab of DPOJet. b) Perform link training option under DUT panel functions only when all the patterns are loaded to AWG's. ================================================================================== 7.
