1. Introduction

The Tektronix TekExpress HEAC is an automated test solution for testing
the HEAC compliance for Source and Sink type of HEAC DUTs as per CTS 1.4

The online help file included with software contains the detailed information on
how to use the TekExpress HEAC application. This Readme file contains additional
information for the user.
=================================================================================
2. Known Limitations

2.1 TekExpress HEAC application related limitation
a) User need to have administrative privilege while launching the application
first time.
b) If MS Excel is not installed then reports are not generated after completion
of test.
c) During test execution if user pauses the execution and if user does any
changes in instrument setup then it is important that user restores the
instruments settings to same state before clicking "resume".

2.2 TekExpress HEAC known issues in tests
a) During execution of Differential Signal Characteristics Tests if the signal
quality is not good then the scope may not trigger properly and measurement
values will be invalid and reported in MHT report as #### (improper format)
b) The Pre-recorded waveform files mode is supported for Differential Signal
Receiver Performance Characteristics Tests only.
c) While printing the MHT report, page layout need to be adjusted to obtain
desired level of text and image visibility either by using fit to single page
or by printing report on multiple pages or by using large paper size.
d) During execution of Common mode Receiver/Single mode Receiver, shows type
conflict popup.Re Launch of the application resolves the issue.
e) During execution of Tx CM and SM tests, the IEC stream Verification shows
Memory Exception Error, occurs probably when the signal input is improper.
f) Wrong switch setting for the suite "HEAC Transmitter - Common Mode" in the Online Help document.
Please refer the "NewSwitchSetting.pdf" available at the 'TekExpress HEAC' installed folder.
g) CR00320116: EUT FB :Switch settings as per OLH for CM Transmitter test needs to be checked.
--> Please refer the 'Setup_DUT.pdf' for the switch setting present at 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Tektronix\TekExpress\TekExpress HEAC'.

2.3 Installer related limitation
a) Installation of TekExpress and other software are installed on C: only.
b) User need to have administrative privilege while installing the application
================================================================================

5. Before you click "RUN"
A) Ensure that all the required instruments are properly warmed up, Signal Path
Compensation (SPC) is performed, followed by calibration and cable deskew.
B) Setup before starting tests
B.1 ) For Receiver Performance Tests
- Do the setup connections as per CTS
- Ensure that the patterns are installed on AWG before starting
the tests, copy the patterns from ?HEAC Patterns? folder and ensure
that they are on AWG in ?C:\HEAC Patterns\Audio? folder as is.
- If HEAC application is running on scope then configure the scope
in ?GPIB-Controller? mode.
- If HEAC is running on PC/Laptop then map the X: network drive from
scope to PC/Laptop. (refer steps below for network mapping)
B.2) For Transmitter Signal Characteristics Tests
- Do the setup connections as per CTS
- If HEAC application is running on scope then no additional
steps required.
- If HEAC is running on PC/Laptop then map the X: network drive from
scope to PC/Laptop. (refer steps below for network mapping)

C) Steps for network drive connection
C.1) Background information : After you first launch TekExpress, it creates
the following folders on your computer:

?\My Documents\My TekExpress?

NOTE. Ensure that the ?My TekExpress? folder has Full read and write access.
NOTE. If a user with a different Windows login ID launches TekExpress,
a new folder is created under ?My documents? of new user.

?\My Documents\My TekExpress\HEAC?
?\My Documents\My TekExpress\HEAC\Untitled Session?,

this sub-folder is created every time the ?TekExpress HEAC.exe? is launched
and this sub-folder is deleted when you exit application.

CAUTION: Each session has multiple files associated with it. Do not modify
any of the session files and/or folders as this may result in loss
of data or corrupted session files.

The ?My TekExpress? folder mentioned above is created as a shared folder
with share name as ?s My TekExpress
C.2) Steps to map X: from an instrument to PC/Laptop/Scope where TekExpress
is running:
i. Open Windows Explorer.
ii. From the Windows Explorer menu, select Tools > Map Network drive.
iii. Select the Drive letter as X: (if there is any previous connection
on X:, disconnect it first through Tools > Disconnect Network
drive menu of Windows Explorer).
iv. In the Folder field, enter remote My TekExpress folder path
(for example, \\TEKSCOPE-053935\Global John?s My TekExpress )

6. TekExpress HEAC created changes on your system.
After first launch of "TekExpress HEAC.exe" following changes take place in your
computer.
a) "My TekExpress" folder is created under "My Documents" folder of current user
NOTE: If a user with new login ID launches "TekExpress HEAC.exe",
"My TekExpress" folder is created under "My Documents" of the new user.
b) "HEAC" folder is created under "My TekExpress" folder
c) "Untitled Session" folder is created under "HEAC" folder, note that
everytime "TekExpress HEAC.exe" is launched "Untitled Session" folder is
created under "HEAC" folder and will be deleted after proper termination
of application.
d) If user saves a session in TekExpress HEAC all session files are saved
under "HEAC" folder. Note that each session has multiple files associated
with it and do not tamper with any of the session file(s) and/or folder(s)
this may result in loss of data or corrupted session files.
