3. TekExpress USB3.1 Tx created changes on your system.
After first launch of "TekExpress USB.exe" following changes take place in your
computer.
- "My TekExpress" folder is created under "My Documents" folder of current user
NOTE: If a user with new login ID launches "TekExpress USB3.1 Tx.exe",
"My TekExpress" folder is created under "My Documents" of the new user.
- "USB" folder is created under "My TekExpress" folder
- "Untitled Session" folder is created under "USB3.1 Tx" folder, note that
every time "TekExpress USB3.1 Tx.exe" is launched "Untitled Session" folder is
created under "USB3.1 Tx" folder and will be deleted after proper termination
of application.
- If user saves a session in TekExpress USB3.1 Tx all session files are saved
under "USB3.1 Tx" folder. Note that each session has multiple files associated
with it and do not tamper with any of the session file(s) and/or folder(s) this
may result in loss of data or corrupted session files.
==================================================================================
4. Before you click "RUN"
a) If you are executing TekExpress application on PC other than the scope used
for testing then please ensure that the network connectivity is established
between the PC running the TekExpress and the scope. Map the shared
My TekExpress folder as X: (X drive) on scope instruments used in test setup
running Microsoft Windows Operating System. This share folder is used to save
the waveform files or any other file transfer operations.
b) Ensure that all the required instruments are properly warmed up, Signal Path
Compensation (SPC) is performed, followed by calibration and cable/Probe deskew.
c) Scope should be deskewed with bandwidth set to 13G for all channels before testing.
d) For Gen2, it is recommended to use Ch1,Ch3 or Ch2, Ch4 to get 100GS/s sample rate.
Otherwise Gen2 (10Gbps) measurements will run on 50GS/s.
==================================================================================

==================================================================================
7. Known Limitations

7.1 Installer related
- Installation of TekExpress and other software are installed on C: drive only.
- User needs to have administrative privilege while installing the application.
- The available free space on C: drive must be minimum 5GB.

7.2 TekExpress application related
- When running USB3.1 Tx tests, if no signal is connected, then during DPOJET Vertical autoset,
the DPOJET/scope may not respond since it waits for ever for a signal. If in between the signal
is connected, then the execution proceeds normally. To overcome this error, please ensure that
the signal is connected before starting the measurements.
- It has been seen that sometimes even with valid signal, the DPOJET Autoset hangs.
This primarily happens if the user tries to access the scope graticule when autoset is
happening. Hence it is advised that the user must not access the scope graticule when DPOJET
Autoset is happening.
- Make sure a filter file is selected when the user checks the respective filter option.
- Limits Editor will not show measurement specific units and for LFPS tests '_10Gbps' prefix is added.
- DPOJET Test Method does not set CTLE filter to 0db for short channel in Gen2.
- Progress bar does not indicate the accurate completion status of the measurements.
- When waveforms are loaded manually for 'Use pre-recorded waveform files' ensure that 'Data + and Data -'
in 'Acquisitions' panel for 'Acquire live waveforms' mode' are selected as per the 'Single Ended' channel waveform names

7.3 SDLA related
- On real-time scopes, when source is a math waveform that relies on another math
expression rather than a live source or reference waveform, (for example, source
is Math1 where MATH1 = arbFilt(MATH2) and MATH2 = CH1 - CH3), SDLA code will fail
to recognize that an acquisition must be triggered. Try to avoid math-on-math
expressions. For the above example, use MATH1 = arbFilt(CH1 - CH3).
- On real-time scopes, DFE equalizer block can only process limited number of
points. When Equalizer is in user mode, and waveforms are greater than 10M in
length, the Equalizer block will only process the first 10M of the record.
The number of samples being processed by AMI model may vary depending on samples
per bit setting. The user may still have eye diagrams of 'Test Point's in SDLA on
the waveforms that are greater than what has been processed but the eye diagram
for the Equalizer will be limited to processed data.
- on real-time scopes, when waveforms are too large the Math waveforms for the test
points may not be able to turn on if the scope runs out of memory. If this occurs
then messages appear suggesting that record length be reduced.
- On real-time scopes, when scope record length is set to be too large before SDLA
Apply, the scope may reduce the record length without warning when SDLA Apply tries
to turn on Math waveforms for Tps, and SDLA will wait for new acquisition.
Re-run Apply in SDLA to let scope acquire new data and SDLA can get consistent
results when scope record length is changed.

7.4 SigTest related
- USB3.1 Tx application integrates a beta version of Sigtest, v4.0.23.
In some instances, CP9 short execution may cause Sigtest to crash. In such cases, exit Sigtest and re-run the tests to fix the issue.

7.5 Others
- We do not recommend USB3.0 USB-IF fixtures and Tektronix USB3.0 fixtures for compliance testing.
- Oscilloscope as 'Toggle setup' using aux toggle is not reliable, use AWG or AFG instead.
- Recalling a session saved from the previous releases (v6.0 till v10.0) is not recommended.
- Programmatic Interface commands have been modified in the latest version, refer OLH for more details.
- Waveform naming convention is modified to be in-line with Type-C connector support.
==================================================================================
8. Notes
- Measurements for USB3.1 Gen2 are executed with ‘locked Rj value processed from CP10 without CTLE’ in LIVE signal tests.
- In Pre-Recorded Mode, the Rj is locked to default of 1.0 ps for all selected measurements of USB3.1 Gen2.
- Ensure the 'Session Name' given is less than or equal to 20 characters and DUTID given less than or equal to 10 characters.
- The waveform name, results panel, test report will have, 'Lane' set as Lane1 by default for 'Connector' Standard / Micro.
- Waveform naming convention used from this release is as given below:
For 5 / 10 Gbps measurements:
CPx_Lanex_Measured_Genx_TesMethod_Channel_Run1.wfm (When 'Test Point' is 'Compliance TP1 - Far End')
CPx_Lanex_Probed_Genx_DPOJET_Channel_Run1.wfm (When 'Test Point' is 'Tx Pins - Near End / Custom')
CPx is CP0 / CP1 / CP7 / CP9 / CP10
Lanex is Lane1 / Lane2 (When 'Connector' is 'Type C' for others it is Lane1)
Genx is Gen1 / Gen2
TestMethod is DPOJET / SIGTest (USB-IF)
Channel is Long / Short
For Tx EQ measurements:
Preshoot and DeEmphasis tests CP13, CP14 and CP15 waveforms are acquired and saved. Signal validation, if turned ON will be done only for CP13.
CPx_Lanex_Measured_Gen2_Channel_Run1_Pxx_d_001.wfm (Pxx is Preset P00 for CP15, P01 for CP13 and P02 for CP14)
For LFPS measurements:
LFPS_Lanex_Chx_Genx_Channel_Run1.wfm (Chx is selected Data+ channel and Data- channel)
LFPS_Lanex_Measued_Genx_Channel_Run1.wfm (When 'Test Point' is 'Compliance TP1 - Far End')
LFPS_Lanex_Probed_Genx_Channel_Run1.wfm (When 'Test Point' is 'Tx Pins - Near End / Custom')
Additional Information:
CP10 waveform is saved without CTLE to process Rj value. Waveform name has a reference as 'NO_CTLE'.
CP9 waveform is saved without Embed/CTLE. Waveform name has a reference as 'EQ'.
If 'Channel' is selected as 'Both' then CP10, CP13, CP14 and CP15 are saved only for 'Short Channel'.
Channel specific waveforms are saved for CP0 and CP9 to perform 'Common Mode' tests when 'Test Point' is 'Tx Pins - Near End / Custom'.
