3. TekExpress USB RMT created changes on your system.
After first launch of "TekExpress USB RMT.exe" following changes take place in your
computer.
a) "My TekExpress" folder is created under "My Documents" folder of current user
NOTE: If a user with new login ID launches "TekExpress USB RMT.exe",
"My TekExpress" folder is created under "My Documents" of the new user.
b) "USB RMT" folder is created under "My TekExpress" folder
c) "Untitled Session" folder is created under "USB RMT" folder, note that
every time "TekExpress USB RMT.exe" is launched "Untitled Session" folder is
created under "USB RMT" folder and will be deleted after proper termination
of application.
d) If user saves a session in TekExpress USB RMT all session files are saved
under "USB RMT" folder. Note that each session has multiple files associated
with it and do not tamper with any of the session file(s) and/or folder(s) this
may result in loss of data or corrupted session files.

4. Before you click "RUN"
a) Ensure that all the required instruments are properly warmed up, Signal Path
Compensation (SPC) is performed, followed by calibration and cable/Probe deskew.

7. Known Limitations

7.1 Installer related limitation
a) Installation of TekExpress and other software are installed on C: drive only.
b) User needs to have administrative privilege while installing the application.
c) The available free space on C: drive must be minimum 2.2GB.

7.2 TekExpress application related limitation

a) Test will be started only when all the instruments are available.

b) This version of TekExpress is qualified with TekVisa ver 3.3.9

- It is recommended to use this version of TekExpress with TekVisa 3.3.9

- If you intend to install TekExpress on Tek-instrument with lower version of
TekVisa then it is recommended to install TekVisa 3.3.9 on Tek-instrument.

c) The application is best viewed in super VGA resolution or higher video adapter
(800x600 minimum video resolution for small fonts or 1024x768 minimum video
resolution for large fonts) with 96 dpi display settings. If application is
running on instrument with lower resolution then it is recommended to use
secondary monitor.

d) During test execution if user pauses the execution and if user does any
changes in instrument setup then it is important that user restores the
instruments settings to same state before clicking "resume".

e) Need to have about 4 GB of hard disk space to save the session information.

f) TekExpress application cannot be executed in AWG. Application may not work as expected.

g) Scope can be triggered only using Channel 1 and Channel 2 for
- Trigger during loopback and error detection (when Scope is used as Error Detector)
- Trigger during loopback (When Ellisys Error Detector is used).

h) Jitter measurement in scope can only be done between Channel 3 and Channel 4 since Channel 1 and 2
are used for error detection.
i) Sometimes progress bar will not be reaching 100% even when test execution is completed.

j) Comments entered in config panel will not be captured in report.

k) AWG Space is a driving factor for Pattern Creation/Insertion/Import operations in AWG. This issues is
observed on AWG7122C. If the space availability on AWG is less, application takes more time to
create/insert/import patterns. So ensure at least 4 GB of hard disk space is available.

l) When "measure jitter method" is set to manual, the pop-up to get user input can accept all chars.
Please ensure that the user enters only numeric characters.

m) During test execution sometimes report may not be display latest test data. This issue has been
observed with IE6.0 and sometimes with IE7.0. Reinstalling the application will resolve this issue
or manually refreshing the report page will also update the sheet.

n) If on a scope the X: is mapped as a Local disk and the user wishes to map X: to a shared network location on a
PC on which TekExpress is running, then the user will have to manually unmap the Local Disk X:
using the command (subst x: /d) from the command prompt and then manually map the X: on scope to desired network location.

o) If user wants to access the scope remotely which is running USB RMT application,
it is recommended that they use VNC instead of Remote desktop.

p) User may encounter 'DESkey driver issue' on some machines, user gets a window "Files Needed" asking the path for 'dk2usb.sys' file; When this dialog comes up, the user has to type the path C:\Windows\inf\DESKEY and click OK. Now the driver should get installed properly.

q) User may encounter 'Tektronix Power supply driver issue' on some machines, user gets a window "Files Needed" asking the path for 'TekUsb.sys' file; when this dialog comes up, the user has to type the path "C:\WINDOWS\system32\DRVSTORE\TekUsb_9862CBE36E8161B7FBA39C679C0DB6962EC60E5D\i386" and Click OK. Now the driver should get installed properly.

r) If user selects 'Waveform creation option' as Use-Precreated:
For informative tests: Application checks for the WFMs in AWG; if they are available will go ahead and use them else the application will prompt user that WFMs are not available and will continue the test.
For normative tests: Application uses the supplied *.AWG files during the test execution.

s) If user selects 'Waveform creation option' as "Use-Precreated"; the configuration panel 'Analyze parameters' & 'General Parameter' will not be applicable.

t) Other Known defects

1. When No Ellisys Box is connected and user tries refresh instrument bench with Non-Visa Resources an unexpected error

2. Pj is measured using Scope: Pj value is not consistent & sometimes 'Measurement Error' comes for the DPOJET query.

3. When we measure Pj using DPOJET and if DPOJET is not present in the Scope. Application Hangs when trying to measure Pj. In this case user has to install DPOJET and then proceed with the measurement.

4. When Save WFM option is set any other value and apply the changes, it turns to default after close and open

5. If the Loopback validation fails, the Scope Error is not cleared when the continue button is pressed
