Introduction The Tektronix 10G-KR is an automated compliance and Debug test system for testing 10G-KR and 40G-KR4 along with Protocol Decode Solution. 10G-KR option supports: - TekExpress 10G-KR, Automated compliance test for 10G-KR device and 40G-KR4 device, and a DPOJET Plug-in debug solution. - It also provides Protocol Decode solution for 10G-KR and supports scrambled and unscrambled input. The Installation manual contains the procedure for installation and the online help file included with the software contains the detailed information on how to use the system. This Readme.txt file contains additional information for the user about TekExpress 10G-KR solution. ===================================================================================== 2. List of supported equipment's and softwares This application is supported on all scopes with bandwidth 16GHz or more. Following are the supported scope models: DPO/DSA/MSO71604C, DPO/DSA/MSO72004C, DPO/DSA72504D, DPO/DSA73304D, DPO/MSO72304DX, DPO/MSO72504DX, DPO/MSO73304DX, DPO77002SX,DPO75002SX, DPO73304SX and DPO75902SX Asscessries: - Matched Pair SMA Cables or P7500/P7700 series Trimode Probes with bandwidth 16GHz or above - PSPL5501A DC Block Scope Firmware Version: 10.8 or greater DPOJET Version: 10.0.7 or greater ===================================================================================== 3. List of supported tests a) Signaling speed b) Differential peak-to-peak output voltage (max) c) Differential peak-peak output voltage (max) with Tx disabled d) Transition time e) Max output jitter (peak-peak) f) Duty Cycle Distortion g) Transmitter output waveform characteristics i) Output waveform coefficient update - Coefficient update - C(1) Increment - Coefficient update - C(1) Decrement - Coefficient update - C(0) Increment - Coefficient update - C(0) Decrement - Coefficient update - C(-1) Increment - Coefficient update - C(-1) Decrement ii) Output waveform coefficient status - Status C(1)Disabled_C(0)Minimum_C(-1)Disabled - Status C(1)Disabled_C(0)Maximum_C(-1)Disabled - Status C(1)Minimum_C(0)Minimum_C(-1)Disabled - Status C(1)Disabled_C(0)Minimum_C(-1)Minimum h) Common-mode voltage limits i) Common-mode voltage deviation during LPI ===================================================================================== 4. Changes/What's new in version 10.2.2? a) RF switch support is removed. Hence 40G-KR4 option is no longer available in DUT panel. To run multiple lanes, configure the lanes in Lane setup. Multiple lanes are supported using multiple channels in oscilloscope. b) Measurement "Common mode voltage during LPI mode" is added. c) Output waveform update and Output waveform status measurements are divided into sub-measurements and measurement flow is optimized. d) Report format is changed. e) Pattern2 and Pattern3 support is added for Jitter measurements. f) Application has been upgraded to 64 bit system. Install location will be changed to "Program Files" g) Improvements in overall execution time. h) De-skew functionality is updated, Application will automatically detect and alert the user if any de-skew and attenuation changes are done in scope. i) P77xx series tri-mode probes with Bandwidth >=16GHz are also supported along with P75xx/P76xx series probes. j) Bandwidth is limited to 16GHz for Transmitter output measurements, this is to avoid effect of intrinsic noise of the 33GHz scope on dV2 and dV5 measurements h) New Scope(DPO71604SX) support has been added. ===================================================================================== 5. TekExpress 100G-TXE created changes on your system. After first launch of "TekExpress 100G-TXE.exe" following changes take place in your Scope. a) "My TekExpress" folder is created under "My Documents" folder of current user NOTE: If a user with new login ID launches "TekExpress 100G-TXE.exe" , "My TekExpress" folder is created under "My Documents" of the new user. b) "Untitled Session" folder is created under "100G-TXE" folder when the application is launched and will be deleted after proper termination of the application. c) If user saves a session then all session files are saved under "100G-TXE" folder accordingly. Note that each session has multiple files associated with it and do not tamper with any of the session file(s) and/or folder(s) as this may result in loss of data or corrupted session files. ===================================================================================== 6. Recommendations Ensure that all the required instruments are properly warmed up, Signal Path Compensation is performed, appropriate attenuators are used when connecting signal to ATI channels and deskew is done. ===================================================================================== 7. Known Limitations 7.1 Installer related limitation a) Installation of TekExpress and other software packages are installed on C: drive only. b) The available free space on C: drive must be minimum 2.2GB. =====================================================================================
