1. Introduction

HDMXpress is a HDMI signal generation software that runs on AWG, which supports the generation of HDMI 2.0 patterns that can be used to perform electrical, protocol and margin tests.

Major Features are
*Supports all the VIC(video identification code) specified CEA861-F specification
*All the color depths are supported 24bit, 30bit, 36bit, 48bit
*Supports all color sub samplings RGB, YCBCR 4-4-4, YCBCR 4-2-0, YCBCR 4-2-2
*Supports all 3D frame types
*Different types of images Gray scale, Color Bar, Chess board, Special image (e.g For test HF2-23), Aspect ratio test image, Custom images (image of user choice)
*Supports HDMI2.0 only Customized for HDMI2.0 test specific configurations.
*Ability to sync the patterns created in the HDMXpress to TekExpress HDM solution
*Application supports Closed Loop calibration and margin

2. Installation

-You need to have administrator privileges to install Tektronix HDMXpress software in your system(though the application
itself will run in user mode).

-It may be necessary to configure file/folder properties to allow users privileges to create and modify files.Consult the appropriate Microsoft documentation for details. The following folders and their contents may need to be configured:

C:\Program Files\Tektronix\HDMXpress
C:\Users\Public\Tektronix\HDMXpress

3. Software Prerequisite

-TekVISA 4.0.0.80 or above, MATLAB runtime 7.14 or above and .Net Framework 4.0 or above
-If the above are not found then HDMXpress installation program will detect and prompt user to install them.

7. Known Limitations

7.1 Installer related limitations
-Installation of HDMXpress and other software packages are installed on C: drive only.
-The available free space on C: drive must be minimum 10 MB.

7.2 HDMXpress application related limitations
-Tests will be started only when all the instruments are available.
-The application is best viewed in super VGA resolution or higher video adapter (800x600 minimum video resolutions for small fonts or 1024x768 minimum video resolutions for large fonts) with 96 dpi display settings. If application is running on instrument with lower resolution then it is recommended to use secondary monitor.
-Need to have sufficient hard disc space (Minimum of 1GB) to save the pattern.
-The time taken to compile a waveform depends on the length of the input bit pattern. In case of a very long input bit stream, while waveform compile the application title bar may reflect as "(Not Responding)".
-If user tries to access the application during this time, it may lead to hang / crash.Hence it is advised not to access the GUI of the application, while the waveform compilation is in progress and wait for it to complete.
-The Sync button in TekExpress HDM application pattern table will not function properly if AWG Master to Oscilloscope connection is over GPIB.
-On Creation of pattern for the Test ID HF2-25 also creates its DUAL aspect ratio pair in-case it has it's DUAL pair. Both patterns available to user to run this test. Running this test for secondary VIC will only perform test for that particular VIC.
-During application installation if "Process is already running" message comes, please check the Windows Task Manager and close "HDMXPress.exe"
