Introduction The Tektronix USB 2.0 compliance test application (Opt. 5-CMUSB2,Opt. 6-CMUSB2) and selected Tektronix oscilloscopes provide one-button compliance testing for USB 2.0 devices as specified by the USB-IF. The USB software automates the compliance testing and allows engineers to perform the required tests efficiently and reliably right at their bench. ================================================================================== 2. Modifications done on your system by TekExpress USB2 After first launch of "TekExpress USB2.exe" following changes take place in your computer: a) "My TekExpress" folder is created under "My Documents" folder of current user NOTE: If a user with new login ID launches "TekExpress USB2.exe", "My TekExpress" folder is created under "My Documents" of the new user. b) "USB2" folder is created under "My TekExpress" folder c) "Untitled Session" folder is created under "USB2" folder, note that every time "TekExpress USB2.exe" is launched "Untitled Session" folder is created under "USB2" folder and will be deleted after proper termination of application. d) If user saves a session in TekExpress USB2 all session files are saved under "USB2" folder. Note that each session has multiple files associated with it and do not tamper with any of the session file(s) and/or folder(s) this may result in loss of data or corrupted session files. ================================================================================== 4. Before you click "RUN" a) If you are executing TekExpress application on PC other than the scope used for testing then please ensure that the network connectivity is established between the PC running the TekExpress and the scope. Map the shared My TekExpress folder as X: (X drive) on scope instruments used in test setup running Microsoft Windows Operating System. This share folder is used to save the waveform files or any other file transfer operations. b) Ensure that all the required instruments are properly warmed up, Signal Path Compensation (SPC) is performed, followed by calibration and cable/Probe deskew. ================================================================================== 5. Known Limitations 7.1 Installer related limitation a) TekExpress USB2 and other software are installed on C: drive only. b) User needs to have administrative privilege while installing the application. c) The available free space on C: drive must be minimum 5GB. 7.2 TekExpress USB2 application related limitation a) TekExpress USB2 session files (with .TekX extension) can only be opened from Options -> Open Test Setup menu. Opening by double clicking on session files is not supported. b) Limits Editor will not show measurement specific units. c) When executing Receiver Sensitivity test with 'differential probe' say P6248, ensure attenuation is set to '1X'. d) Mask margin will be applicable for only 4 & 6 coordinate mask. e) Custom mask is applied in TekExpress plot only. This mask will not be shown in report. f) Use 1.3.0.1 xHCI tool for DUT automation mode. g) Ensure that the scope is restarted after installing the USB-2.0 Application for the first time. After Scope launch go to Options --> Instrument Control Settings menu item and CLICK on Refresh button. This will list the instruments. This step must be performed before using the solution. h) In the Global Configuration Panel, don't change the RealTime Scope value, it can sometimes freeze the UI for 3-4 mins
