The minimum requirements for the PC are: 1. Windows 10, 64-bit 2. Minimum screen resolution 1920 x 1080 400G-M4 application dependencies: - MATLAB 2017b runtime (Version 9.3) 64-bit Windows. Please install this runtime prior to installing the 400G-M4 application. The MATLAB runtime can be downloaded from the following URL. https://www.mathworks.com/products/compiler/matlab-runtime.html - TekVISA version V4.2.0.10 or above to connect to the oscilloscope. The 400G-M4 installer includes this version of TekVISA and automatically updates the system during the installation process. - Scope Noise application. This application needs to be installed on the DSA8300. This application is used to characterize the noise on the instrument and the noise values will be used by the 400G-M4 application during analysis. - Option key for the 400G-M4 application must be installed on the DSA8300 to which the application connects for online mode of operation. - This installation comes with Perl and Python programming examples. For the examples to work, Python 3.0 or newer and Perl 5.24 or newer are required. ================================================================================ 2. What's new in this release? - V1.1.0.xx includes defect fixes and the following new features: 1. "Transmitter Transition Time" and "Ceq" measurements are added. To find the value of "TDECQ –10log10(Ceq)” use the value of "TDECQ" and the value of "Ceq". 2. "Laser Tuning Mode" is added for interactive adjustments of the DUT. In this mode, the measurements such as "Symbol Level" run faster to allow faster adjustment of the DUT. 3. "Set Scope" feature simplifies the oscilloscope setup. With this feature the 400G-M4 application sets several of the oscilloscope's horizontal and vertical settings as appropriate for the baud rate setting. 4. "ER adjust" is added to adjust the ER measurement for better match between multiple oscilloscopes. 5. TDECQ algorithms have received several improvements for better accuracy and repeatability. ================================================================================ 4. Previous Release Notes - V1.0.0.8x (October 10, 2018). New features include: 1. Support for saving and recalling setups. 2. AOP and OMA measurements are displayed in dBm. 3. Eye plot is displayed with other measurement selection such as "Eye" or "Symbol Level". 4. Eye plot displays measurement results: OMA, ER, AOP, Rlm, Level, and TDECQ. 5. Some defects are fixed. 6. When any channel analysis aborts, the measurement for other channels will not be impacted by it. 7. All results for "TDECQ", "Eye" and "Symbol Level" are saved in the TDECQ_ResultFiles.txt file, which is in directory C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Temp. 8. DSA8300 "Acquire" or "Idle" state status is displayed in the Acquistion_StatusFile.txt file. 9. Lock instrument during the acquisition to prevent mis-operation by the user. 10. External attenuation for input signal for measurements. 11. Feature to disable FFE tap value recalculation to help reduce measurement time. 12. Average waveform for data acquisition. 13. Support of BWE bandwidth input 11.2GHz for higher baud rate for live channel. 14. TDECQ algorithm has been modified to match the changed standard. 15. More status information is displayed on the status bar. V1.0.0.3x (June 29, 2018), initial application release. Features include 1. PAM4 eye, level, and TDECQ measurements with simplified setup. 2. Results and plot for the selected measurements. 3. Simultaneous 4 channel acquisition and analysis in online mode. 4. Offline mode of analysis for saved files from JNB or 400G-M4 applications. 5. BWE support using module impulse response for optimal BT4 filters for standard compliant testing. 6. Support for 80C17, 80C18, 80C10C 80C20, 80C21 optical modules on DSA8300. 7. Programmatic interface to set up and control the application. ================================================================================ 5. Known Problems and Limitations - Some PI commands related to measurement results have a query format only. Details are provided in the application Help. - If 400G-M4 cannot connect to DSA8300, please refer to the application Help, troubleshooting "Oscilloscope Connection" topic, for details. - A DSA8300 cannot work with both JNB and 400G-M4 applications at the same time. - Some PI commands will result in a UI pop up message. It does not affect the PI command functionality. - For "perl TDECQ_PI_Client.pl -startapp" to run, 400G-M4.exe must be in the same directory as TDECQ_PI_Client.pl. ================================================================================ 6.
