TDS6000 and CSA7000/TDS7000 Series Firmware Upgrade

Use these instructions to download the most current firmware to your 
TDS6000, TDS7000 or CSA7000 instrument. 

NOTE: 

If you have purchased a Windows Operating System upgrade, perform the 
Windows operating System upgrade first.

There are three different install downloads to upgrade the different 
TDS/CSA instrument models: one for the TDS6404 and TDS6604; a second for 
the TDS7054 and TDS7104 models; and a third for the TDS7154, TDS7254, 
TDS7404, CSA7154, and CSA7404 models. Make sure that the correct 
download file is used with the correct model.

The appropriate file may be downloaded directly to your TDS6000 or 
CSA7000/TDS7000 Series instrument while connected to the Internet.  Or 
the file may be downloaded to a workstation and copied to a CD. This 
disk may then be used on multiple instruments.

The upgrade process requires two steps. The first step uninstalls the 
existing version and the second step installs the new version. A reboot 
is required after each step.

1. Locate the downloaded file, either in the directory it was downloaded 
into from the Internet or on the CD. Launch the downloaded file to start 
the un-install program.  Follow the on-screen directions.

2. After the instrument re-boots, run the same downloaded file again to 
install the new firmware. Follow the on-screen directions.

3. After the instrument re-boots, the installation process will be 
complete. From the Menu bar, select Help->About TekScope… Verify that 
the correct model name and version are displayed. We recommend you run 
Signal Path Compensation (SPC) after loading the new firmware and after 
a 20-minute warm-up period. To run SPC, from the Menu bar, select 
Utilities->Instrument Calibration... and press Calibrate.

Note:

If for some reason you are unable to download this firmware update, 
contact your local Tektronix representative and order the CD Software 
Package. If you have successfully downloaded this firmware and are 
unable to load it into your TDS6000/CSA7000/TDS7000 Series oscilloscope
per the instructions above, contact the Tektronix Technical Support Center at:
