These are the installation instructions for updating the Windows 
firmware in a 6 Series MSO oscilloscope or digitizer using your downloaded 
6SeriesMSO firmware update zip file.

Contents of this zip package:

    install.txt       - this text file
    releaseNotes.txt  - describes differences between firmware versions
    elem_W_rel_xx.exe - oscilloscope/digitizer firmware installer for 
                        Windows 6 Series MSO or LPD

    Applicable open source licensing references.

Instructions:

    1.  Copy the file 'elem_W_rel_xx.exe' to suitable USB media or the 
        oscilloscope or digitizer hard drive. 

    2.  Insert the USB media into any of the USB Host ports on the
        front of the oscilloscope or digitizer. (The host ports on 
        the rear of the oscilloscope or digitizer may also be used.)

    3.  Exit the Oscilloscope/Digitizer application.

    4.  Double-click the installer executable.
    
    5.  Wait for a dialog to appear and once it does, follow the
        instructions. There are multiple confirmation screens to
        click through and you must accept the license agreement.

        Do not turn off the device or remove the USB media
        until prompted to do so!

    6.  When the screen says that the upgrade is complete, turn off
        the oscilloscope or digitizer.

    7.  Turn on the oscilloscope or digitizer.

Currently Installed Version:

    The firmware version currently installed in the oscilloscope is shown
    in the About menu, accessible from the Utility menu.
