CSA7000B/TDS7000B Series Firmware Upgrade Use these instructions to download the most current firmware to your TDS7000B or CSA7000B instrument. There are two different install downloads to upgrade the different TDS/CSA instrument models: one for the TDS7704B and a second for the TDS7154B, TDS7254B, TDS7404B, and CSA7404B models. Make sure that the correct download file is used with the correct model. The appropriate file may be downloaded directly to your CSA7000B/TDS7000B Series instrument while connected to the Internet. Or the file may be downloaded to a workstation and copied to a CD. The disk may then be used on multiple instruments. The upgrade process requires two steps. The first step uninstalls the existing version and the second step installs the new version. A reboot is required after each step. 1. Locate the downloaded file, either in the directory it was downloaded into from the Internet or on the CD. Launch the downloaded file to start the un-install program. Follow the on-screen directions. 2. When prompted to reboot the instrument, select yes and click Finish to reboot. After the instrument re-boots, The download file will automatically restart and continue with the install process. Follow the on-screen directions again to install the new firmware and select yes, when prompted, to reboot a second time. 3. After the instrument re-boots, the installation process will be complete. From the Menu bar, select Help->About TekScope… Verify that the correct model name and version are displayed. We recommend you run Signal Path Compensation (SPC) after loading the new firmware and after a 20-minute warm-up period. To run SPC, from the Menu bar select Utilities->Instrument Calibration... and press Calibrate.
