Introduction NRZ-M4 analysis application provides optical NRZ signaling analysis, including TDEC(Transmitter and Dispersion Eye Closure) measurement. The application brings together NRZ optical measurements in a simple and easy to use application. Application is designed for manufacturing floor, designed to run in an optimized way to deliver results faster. Key features: The NRZ-M4 application performs a comprehensive analysis of Optical NRZ signals, including TDEC, Mask margin and other optical measurements. NRZ-M4 provides the following features: - Analyze upto 4 optical channels at a time. - Run multiple instances of the application and connect to different DSA8300's for parallel analysis of multiple channels. - Show results as numeric and graphical display - Perform TDEC (Transmitter and Dispersion Eye Closure) - Signal characterization measurements such as Amplitude, Timing measurements - Characterization of 100Gbps Optical transceivers(SR4, LR4) devices with Mask margin measurements. Perform optimal mask fitting for better margin. - Support for measurements at various population limits.-Display 2-D eye diagrams with embedded mask. - Save analysis results to a file ================================================================================================= 2. System Requirements The NRZ-M4 application is designed to run on a PC running Windows operating system. A high performance PC is recommended to minimize the computation time of waveform analysis. The minimum requirements for the PC are: 1. Windows 10, 64-bit 2. Scale and layout: Screen resolution has to be 1920 x 1080 with 100% size of text, apps and other items ================================================================================================= 5. Recommendations - Configure the Wavelength, filter and bandwidth settings in Vertical Menu in scope. Later in PC, use Scope connect/Autosync to selected sources option to load the selected module information and corresponding scope noise values into NRZ-M4 application. - Install MATLAB 2017b runtime (Version 9.3) 64-bit Windows prior to installing the NRZ-M4 application. - TekVISA version v4.2.0.10 or above to connect to the oscilloscope. The NRZ-M4 installer includes recommended version of TekVISA. Installer automatically updates the system during the installation process. - Scope Noise application need to be installed on the DSA8300. This application is used to characterize the noise on the instrument. Noise values from the application will be used by NRZ-M4 application during analysis. - Option key for the application must be installed on the instrument (DSA8300) to which the application connects for online mode of operations. - This package comes with Perl and Python programming examples. For the examples to work, - Python 3.0/newer or Perl 5.24/newer will be required. - Multiple instances of the appplication has to be launched from command prompt only. Known Limitations 6.1 Installer related limitation a) Installation of NRZ-M4 and other software packages are installed on C: drive only. 6.2 Known Issue a) Some PI commands will result in a UI pop up message. It does not affect the PI command functionality. b) If NRZ-M4 cannot connect to DSA8300, please refer to the application Help, troubleshooting "Oscilloscope Connection" topic, for details. =================================================================================================
