Known Limitations - Before performing any test: i. Ensure that the probes and test fixtures are connected properly. ii. It is recommended to do the scope, AWG and probe calibration. If you do not follow the above steps, then the results may be invalid. - Performing calibration in Sink Jitter Tolerance test will overwrite the existing patterns. However, factory default patterns are also stored in SJT_Backup folder. - Results: In Jitter Plot, if there is no data within a histogram box, you will see the histogram readout on the plots as "--" and the histogram will not be displayed. Increase the record length and try again. - Report remarks/comments: If the remarks/comments are too long, they might get clipped in the generated report. - If a printer is not configured on your oscilloscope, you may see a message box, "You must first configure a printer." when you run the application. Click OK and then configure a printer. - In some of the Windows Operating System, the scope screen shot in the test report(.rpt file) may be shrunk. - If a version lower than HDMI Compliance Test Software (1.4) is to be installed first uninstall the higher version through Control Panel->Add Remove Programs before installation. - The Quick Start User Manual (Japanese) is not updated to include DDS features. - The connection diagram is not shown to the user for the tests when the user click on Connect->More. To view the connection diagram click on Help->Help Topics - The patterns associated with the below Sink tests With Direct synthesis setup does not load on AWG7102 either because of granularity (64 for AWG 7102) or lesser waveform memory (128MB).So use AWG7122 B/C instead of AWG7102 for the below tests. 8-21 Audio Clock Regeneration 8-22 Audio Sample Packet Jitter 8-23 Audio Jitter 8-24 DVI Interoperability (480p 8 60Hz CBar RGB PC v53) 8-28 one Bit Audio 8-15 Character Synchronization 8-16 Acceptance of All Valid Packet Types 8-19 Pixel Encoding Requirements 8-20 Video Format - The below stated patterns of Sink test - 3D Video With Direct synthesis setup could be loaded on AWG7102 also. Otherwise for rest of the patterns of the same test use AWG7122B/C instead of AWG7102. 8-29 3D video - 1080i 8 50Hz RGB TV v99 3DFP (Configure -> Test Method - DDSMethod ->Custom 'Man with Sphere'3D / Standard Graybars 3D ->Pattern List) - 1080i 8 50Hz RGB Tv v99 3DSSH(Configure -> Test Method - DDSMethod ->Custom 'Man with Sphere'3D / Standard Graybars 3D ->Pattern List) - Some of the 3D->Custom patterns are not loaded automatically on DTG using TDS7K scopes. Source Differential tests - In two probe configuration - By default Select All doesn't support Inter pair skew test as it is a Data-Data test. If the user selects Inter Pair skew ensure that Data channels are connected. User can perform this test once Select All tests are carried out. Source Differential tests - In four probe configuration - By default Select All doesn't support Inter pair skew test as it is a Data-Data test. If the user selects Inter Pair skew with all other Source Differential tests ensure 3(at least) or 4 probes are connected. - Source Single Ended SelectALL : The number of tests completed shown in the TDSHT3 application progress dialogue sometimes is incorrect. 8-6 Sink intra-pair skew - The result shows "Conditional Pass" for some resolutions: This is due to the limitation of the DTG method having skew less than 1 nS as per CTS. This is even implemented in DDS methodology to correlate with DTG. - Sink MinMax: Test connection should be performed before executing Sink Min Max Test - Cable Eye Diagram : Cable Eye Diagram test is recommended to perform at TP2 or TP5 along with TP1. However TDSHT3 allows the user to perform the test at TP2 or TP5 alone. In this case, ensure TP1 worst case eye setting are available on DTG / AWG before performing the test at TP2 /TP5. - Please ignore the Launch warning pop-up message on DPO 4GHz/6GHz Scopes. - For cable eye diagram test in reports sometimes lane configuration is shown different for deatils and plots. - It is recommended that for running Sink Jitter Tolerance calibration(Test ID 8-7) for frequencies 27 Type E, 74 Type E, 222 and 297 , "Use DSP filter" should be disabled from file menu-->Preferences ================================================================================ 4.
